Newsflash

Today we met with a guy who has a fair bit of land on the south gippsland hwy. this meeting was held to look at the location for sportrc's new track. this site has the potential for an all out radio control meka. we will be constructing an outdoor track to begin with. this site will also have a canteen for food and drink, also toilets plus power and water. behind the drivers stand will be a very large under cover area wich will allow racers to make repairs out of the weather and also to house spectators and possibly a bbq area.

Once we get closer to a build date we will tell you more information and also what the membership and race day fees will be. we have also decided to have a membership cap on this site but we have yet to come up with a number.

Frankston BMX Track - This is arguably the favorite bash spot for those of us in the Frankston, Cranbourne and Mornington Peninsula ares.   It's constructed with a solid yet someone loose sandy / fine gravel surface and has some trully massive jumps.  You'll get a ton of air here if you're game to launch your vehicle of some of the bigger jumps.  The track is a little large to successfully race such small scale vehicles, but it's a stack of fun when a few people turn up to see who can get the most air, who has the biggest stack and who breaks the most parts!

Ettiquette: Frankston BMX Club have been generally welcoming of R/C enthusiasts but they do ask that we respect the track and return the favour observing the following:

Do not leave any rubbish or old parts at the track.

Do not do dohnuts / burnouts on the jumps, this removes the track surface and it's reall hard work for the BMX track maintenance guys to get new material to stick.

Check the BMX Club website for club sanctioned events before you leave and if you get down there and find there is an event on then bad luck.. no fun at Frankton BMX track for you today.

Be respectful of the kids and parents who might be down there with bikes to practice.  We recommend you specifically speak with any children on bikes and let them know what area you will be using for your vehicle.  Children may not understand that they are not always in your field of view as you run your car and accidents can happen.

Report any trailbike usage, vandalism or security issues you see to the BMX club immediatly.  The Club have specifically asked this of us as they see us as another batch of watchful eyes for the security of a great resourse for both groups.
